I'll admit i've only listened to it once and at low volume, but this album is fantastic. I was a little worried that it would pale when compared to the awesome darkness of Blackone, but i'm happy to say Monoliths And Dimensions certainly holds it's own.

If Blackone was like a black hole into the bowels of hell then Monoliths And Dimensions is like floating over ancient landscape on another planet. The additions of new instruments, a female choir, and soundtrack like compositions fit with SunnO)))'s ultra dark and heavy drone perfectly. Something else that needs to be mentioned is Attila's vocal work. Another brilliant perfomance, he has such a commanding presence.

I'll stop banging on about it now before i spoil it too much, but i assure you this ranks with your fav SunnO))) material. Anybody remotely interested in drone or ambient music should pick this up. It's also a good place to start for newcomers to the genre too. This will be in my top albums of 2009 no doubt about it.
